"Up a creek" nghĩa là gì?

'Up a creek' có nghĩa là bị kẹt trong một hoàn cảnh khó khăn (In a challenging or troublesome situation, especially one that cannot be easily resolved; In trouble, in a serious predicament). Thành ngữ này xuất xứ từ câu 'up a creek without a paddle' nghĩa là bị mắc kẹt trong một con lạch mà không có mái chèo để tiến tới.
