"Noble gas" nghĩa là gì?

'Noble gas' có từ noble là (hóa học) không hoạt động, trơ; vì thế từ này nghĩa là khí thuộc nhóm 18 trong bảng tuần hoàn các nguyên tố (any of the seven chemical elements that make up Group 18 (VIIIa) of the periodic table. The elements are helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), radon (Rn), and element 118 (temporarily named ununoctium [Uuo])); khí trơ, khí hiếm (cũng gọi là inert gas, rare gas).

In 1898, Sir William Ramsay and Morris Travers isolated Krypton, Neon and Xenon over just six productive weeks, establishing the noble gas family of elements that would go on to drive the development of lights, lasers, and photography.
