"Dry farming" nghĩa là gì?

'Dry farming' = dryland farming nghĩa là phương pháp canh tác ở vùng bán khô cằn mà không cần tưới, sử dụng các cây trồng chịu hạn và giữ độ ẩm (a method of farming in semiarid areas without the aid of irrigation, using drought-resistant crops and conserving moisture); hạn canh.

Ví dụ
Leonard converted 48 acres of the property from dry-farming (hay and grain production) to irrigated orchards.

Nursery co-owner Eric Schmidt practices dryland farming, as did three generations of family members for more than a century before him.

For vineyards, dry farming means no irrigation, relying only on what Nature provides—with an assist from composting and other supportive measures.

Because we’re dryland farming, you’ve got to make sure you research all your cropping decisions and make the smartest choices you can, based upon the best advice available at the time.
