'Last mile' nghĩa là chặng đường cuối khi đưa hàng tới người tiêu dùng cuối cùng (is used to describe the short geographical segment of delivery of communication and media services, or delivery of products to customers located in dense areas. Last mile logistics tend to be complex and costly to providers of goods and services who deliver to these areas.); ngoài ra còn có nghĩa là dặm đường cuối cùng của người bị hành quyết (từ xà-lim ra pháp trường).

While the last mile could be delivery from a retail store to a customer's front door, the last yard represents the customer receiving that package and taking it to its point of use. In a B2B scenario, repair parts may be sent to a receiving dock, and the last yard is the movement to the manufacturing location where the parts will be used.
