'Let sleeping dogs lie' = để con chó đang ngủ nằm yên, đừng động đến con chó đang ngủ -> nghĩa là đừng gợi lại những chuyện không hay trong quá khứ (avoid interfering in a situation that is currently causing no problems but might do so as a result of such interference.); "đừng bới cứt ra mà ngửi".

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie: Can We Prevent Metastases by Trapping Disseminated Tumor Cells (DTCs) in Dormancy?

If Sen. Jim Risch had followed the wise advice to let sleeping dogs lie, this would have been the brief and transient headline on this story. Alas, Risch briefly tried to stop the name change, which also meant trying to stop the giant spending bill the Senate ultimately passed.

Six years is a long, long time to be with someone without making up your mind on what you want. She’s right, in my opinion, to stand her ground on the marriage thing. Well, you said you are not concerned about her health; so what else could the issue be holding you back from giving her the level of commitment she demands from you? I think you should let sleeping dogs lie unless you have and you're willing what she’s asking for.

Carpool nghĩa là gì?

Carpooling is the sharing of car journeys so that more than one person travels in a car, and prevents the need for others to have to drive to a location themselves. By having more people using one vehicle, carpooling reduces each person's travel costs such as: fuel costs, tolls, and the stress of driving -> đi chung xe,

A father and daughter in Florida ended up taking an unexpected (không ngờ, bất ngờ) dip in the pool on Tuesday, after the man's wife reportedly failed to put the family car in park and it ended up rolling into the water.

"New meaning to the term carpool - Mom thought she put the car in Park when she ran back in to the apartment to grab (chộp, tóm, tước đoạt, vồ lấy...) money," the sheriff's office said. "Apparently it didn't go all the way into park."

The sheriff's office said despite the plunge into the pool, everyone was "ok" and no injuries reported.

A 34-year-old man took the motto (khẩu hiệu, phương châm) "The police, your friend and helper" (cảnh sát, người bạn - người trợ giúp) to heart when he walked into a police station in Ludwigshafen on Tuesday. His problem was a personal one: He wanted to break up (chia tay, đá) with his girlfriend but did not know how. He just did not understand her anymore, he said.

One of the female officers took him aside and proposed (đề xuất, gợi ý) several alternative scenarios (tình huống thay thế). The police force did not describe (miêu tả) what options (phương án) had been suggested (gợi ý) to the man, but were very clear that the actual breaking-up was a job he would have to do himself.

"We are willing to advise, but we can not close the deal," the police reported afterward. "We help everyone, and we always have an open ear for citizens' concerns."

But before you begin laughing, realize this: he's serious about his candidacy.

Steve Lough, of Camden, says he's running for Congress to improve healthcare, and to prevent incidents like Sandy Hook from happening again, he said in a release (thông cáo báo chí).

“We were doing two anti-bullying shows (buổi diễn chống bạo lực học đường) at an elementary school (trường tiểu học) on Camp LeJeune when Sandy Hook happened," Lough explained. "As we left the school, I turned on the radio and heard the news for the first time. For the next six months I couldn’t sleep, felt depressed (trầm cảm), and every time I worked with a 6-year-old volunteer (tình nguyện viên) in the show, I was reminded of the horror (sự ghê rợn, nỗi kinh hoàng) of that day in Newtown. When none of our gun laws changed, I got mad."...
