'Not say boo to a goose' = không (dám) dọa một con ngỗng (boo là một từ dùng để xua, giống như đuổi xùy xùy) -> câu này dùng để chỉ một người rụt rè, nhút nhát, bẽn lẽn.

Ví dụ
"They speak of a mild-mannered (lịch thiệp, ôn hòa) and quiet man who would not say boo to a goose."

His lawyer previously told a court Dowd ‘would not say boo to a goose’ but cannot explain why he targeted (nhắm mục tiêu) the family.

The mum-of-one said Coneyworth would not say boo to a goose, but he had only been staying at the property (nơi ở) for roughly three months before he "disappeared in September".

Immediately after the game at Park, I hunted him down (tìm kiếm) to pass on a couple of words. The young lad (anh chàng) would not say boo to a goose – he was exhausted, gutted (trống rỗng). I went along to watch no one in particular and came away with a name that rattled (lo lắng) around my head like a pea in a can.
