"Too many chefs in the kitchen" nghĩa là gì?

"Too many chefs in the kitchen" hoặc "Too many cooks in the kitchen" (quá nhiều đầu bếp trong bếp) nghĩa là có quá nhiều người đang cố gắng kiểm soát/tác động/ làm ảnh hưởng đến cùng một vấn đề, do đó làm giảm chất lượng của sản phẩm cuối cùng. (Một biến thể của cụm từ: ""Too many chefs spoil the broth/stew/soup." = nhiều đầu bếp thì hỏng nước súp, nhiều người trong một việc thì lại hỏng việc.); 'lắm thầy thối ma'.
Ví dụ
A: "The more that goes wrong with this project, the more people get involved. Now we've got my boss, his boss, the assistant manager (trợ lý giám đốc), a freelance consultant (nhà tư vấn), and the head of IT all involved, and it's turning into a complete disaster (thảm họa)!"
B: "It sounds to me like there are too many chefs in the kitchen."
