Lawyers and the court wanted to know if Philidor was faking (giả bộ,làm giả) mental illness (thần kinh không ổn), so a doctor was appointed to evaluate him.
With multiple convictions (kết án) on his record (hồ sơ), he’s also a career criminal who was facing at least 15 years in prison if convicted
