"Blight" nghĩa là ảnh hưởng xấu, tai họa, "A blight on the land" được dùng để mô tả những sự vật, hiện tượng đem lại ảnh hưởng xấu cho môi trường.

We think of cities as being a blight on the land and polluting the oceans. Floating cities are so different because they could actually be environmentally restorative (hồi phục).
