"Break down and cry" nghĩa là gì?

"Break down and cry" = sụp đổ và khóc -> không thể nhẫn nhịn, kìm nén nổi nữa mà khóc lóc một hồi.
I feel my emotions start to rush (ùa về) to the surface. I want to break down and cry. But there is procedure (thủ tục) to follow. I am a military man (quân nhân). I know to follow procedure.
"I seen grown men break down and cry, and it was tears of sorrow and joy. At least they're not wondering (tự vấn)," he said. "It was bittersweet (buồn vui lẫn lộn), I guess. You know, he's home and he has a place to rest."
I used to get home and break down and cry my eyes out, there was days when it was very tough (khó khăn). But I was very lucky that I have a close family that helped me through. But it was the toughest few years of my life, for sure.
He says fireworks may not have an effect on all vets (cựu chiến binh), but for a small amount, it can bring flashbacks (hồi tưởng) from the front lines (tiền tuyến). “They’ll hear fireworks go off and it’ll bring memories to them. A lot of them will get nervous, break down and cry about all the memories," he said.
