"Ladies who lunch" nghĩa là gì?

"Ladies who lunch" là thành ngữ chỉ những người phụ nữ giàu có và có nhiều thời gian để giao du với nhau chẳng hạn đi ăn trưa cùng nhau.

Ví dụ
Heels (giày cao gót), flats (giày đế bằng) or sneakers (giày để chơi quần vợt)? Or maybe a bag or two? Pazzion's fashion-forward designs (thiết kế hướng đến thời trang) are popular with executives and ladies who lunch (and their mini-mes).

THOSE ladies who lunch raised an amazing £46,000 for a children's charity (sự kiện từ thiện cho trẻ em) at a Mama Mia-themed lunch. More than 300 people attended the annual event, held at the The Mere Golf Resort and Spa, which was transformed (chuyển đổi) into a Greek taverna complete with olive trees.

Forget the LBD, (little black dress), here comes the BBD, (the big black dress), as seen at the Dior couture show in Paris yesterday. At the core of the autumn collection (bộ sưu tập mùa thu) for ladies who lunch — and who ballgown — were frocks (áo dài) as extravagant (phung phí, xa hoa) in their proportions as they were dialled back in their colour scheme.

But their absence in these fundraising (quyên góp từ thiện) efforts reinforces the idea that there is men’s work, and then there is women’s work. That fundraising is something women do: the CWA, "ladies who lunch". Some people have suggested to me that the disparity is because men are more likely to be working, so don’t have time to be involved in school activities.
