"Leave the nest" = chim rời tổ -> ý nói việc lần đầu tiên rời khỏi nhà cha mẹ và tìm một cuộc sống riêng, thường là vào độ tuổi học cấp 3.

Ví dụ
But perennial (lâu năm) nests are built by colonies (bầy, đàn, tập đoàn; khóm, cụm; thuộc địa) that survive into a second year—and often with multiple queens. Ray has seen 75 queens in a single nest, while others have been found to have more than 100. One theory is that the queens are sisters, who for some reason do not leave the nest as is usually the case.

At the lift bridge, DNR and MDOT staff chose Finnish (tiếng Phần Lan) words to name the birds. The males were named Vesi (water) and Lumi (snow), while the females were dubbed Silta (bridge) and Kesa (summer). The new peregrines (chim cắt, chim ưng; ngoại lai, nhập cảng) at both bridges should be ready to leave the nest in another few weeks.

Their whole investment is where they're going to put that nest, because once they leave the nest those hatchlings (con mới nở) are on their own … And so it's really important that they pick just the right spot. They’re coming in, they want it in just the right area. They want it out of the water, out of the high tide. But they want it in an area that may not have a whole lot of predators (thú ăn thịt). They want it in a low light, a quiet area. So they're really selecting the perfect spot. They also want the perfect sand temperature ... They’re looking for the right moisture (độ ẩm) in the sand. So a lot goes into that selection.
