"Get off to a false start" = khởi đầu sai lầm, cụm từ này xuất phát từ môn đua, khi ai đó xuất phát trước khi có hiệu lệnh.

Ví dụ
Bentham does most of his shopping at junk yards (bãi phế liệu) and scrap metal (sắt vụn) dealers. He likes to work with whatever catches his eye. He lets his purchases find their own way into projects, even if things sometimes get off to a false start.

"Sometimes you get off to a false start in tournaments (giải đấu)," he said. "But now we've got it together again and have rediscovered our team spirit (tinh thần). The great high that we experienced in the World Cup can be repeated again. It's hard for me. Not playing can seem easier, but mentally it's a lot more difficult. However, the guys know what they've got to do and they are mature (trưởng thành) enough to rise to the occasion."

Lufthansa did get off to a false start, promising in Nov-2011 to expand with its mainline brand in Berlin like "never before" with a promise of lower costs. But torrents (dòng nước lũ) of losses against the challenge of taking costs out of a FSC proved too overpowering (quá mạnh) to continue on this course (the number of success stories is small), so the story of expanding (mở rộng) in Berlin with Lufthansa has shifted (thay đổi) to Germanwings.
