"High noon" nghĩa là gì?

Đoạn này khó rồi đây!! Photo by: Eerik Sandstrom on Unsplash

"High noon" = đỉnh trưa -> nghĩa là thời khắc quan trọng nhất của cuộc đối đầu hoặc cuộc thi đấu, khủng hoảng. Có thể hiểu theo nghĩa khác là giai đoạn đỉnh cao của một thời điểm nhất định.

Ví dụ
Peace is the way to live and die, work and play, lead and follow, agree and disagree. At high noon throughout the world, hundreds of others — people probably much like those gathered in San Antonio — were part of a virtual (ảo) 24-hour global prayer meeting. It was somehow reassuring (trấn an). They prayed (cầu nguyện) that compassion (long trắc ẩn) could be the means to end violence (bạo lực). They prayed for us to lead by example, because children learn from our words and actions. They prayed for those whose lives have been lost.

It was high noon after a three-hour practice that required three water breaks, two of them indoors (trong nhà). The heat index was 102 degrees. Nick Foles was running sprints: 50-yard gassers, 10 times, full speed, full pads. Alone.

I may not be the most regular player of Rainbow Six Siege, but Ubisoft’s twitchy team shooter always brings me back with its special events (sự kiện đặc biệt). Today’s Showdown event is an old western three-on-three scenario set in an all new map, Fort Truth. Pump shotguns and magnum revolvers only, befitting (phù hợp) the reskinned and old-timey operators. While not quite as ambitious (tham vọng) as their alien mutant invasion (xâm lăng) event (which has spun off into its own game), I’m expecting a fun, messy close-quarters shootfight. If your trigger finger is itchy (ngứa ngáy), there’s a trailer below waiting for high noon.
