“If a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass” hoặc “If frogs had wheels, they wouldn't bump their butts” có nghĩa là đừng cố gắng vô ích vì những điều không thể. Bởi ếch (frog) thì không có cánh, và chúng luôn chạm mông xuống đất, vậy nên cả 2 vế của câu trên đều không thể xảy ra.
Ví dụ
“I’m not buying it,” Henry said. “It’s too easy for someone to make these accusations (lời buộc tội). It’s foolish to go down that road, it’s like what if a frog had wings, he wouldn’t bump his ass every time he jumps.”
The band name came from a quote from Duane Allman, “If a frog had wings, he wouldn’t bump his ass when he jumped.” And thus, continuing on to preach the sermon (thuyết giảng) of Duane Allmanism, Butch named this band after so.
I just love to speculate (suy xét). I remembered my father and I used to have these conversations based on a ‘what if’ concept. His favorite expression was, ‘What if a frog had wings? He wouldn’t bump his butt so much!’ I think you should [ask questions] when you’re young, and certainly as we grow in life. Questions are everything. How do you ever expand your curiosity (tò mò) if you don’t ask questions?
