The member for Hardwick and Salters Lane said: "It would be interesting to know what they pay managers at each of these care homes because to quote the famous saying 'if you pay peanuts you get monkeys'.

Tory councillor Andrew Baggott defended the decision. He said: “I approve of this, if you pay peanuts you get monkeys." There’s no reason why a person who does little work should be paid the same as someone who does the most work.

IBIA director Unni Einemo, who has been a central figure in the IMO negotiations (đàm phán) on the sulphur (lưu huỳnh) cap, warned that pursuing bunker fuels with below market prices would likely cause problems for their buyers. “I am tempted to say if you pay peanuts you get monkeys... We see too much of bunkers buyers chasing the lowest possible price,” she said. (Chú thích: Bunker fuel is the generic term given to any fuel poured into a ship’s bunkers to power its engines.)
