"Judge a book by its cover" – đánh giá một cuốn sách bằng bìa ngoài của nó. Cụm từ tương tự như thành ngữ “Trông mặt mà bắt hình dong”, ý chỉ việc đánh giá một sự vật, sự việc, con người qua vẻ bề ngoài của nó.

 He said, "I really believe that the exterior (bề ngoài) is not so important. It's like that saying, 'Don't judge a book by its cover.'  I had worked a long time to keep my judgments (sự phán xét) out of my business (không phải việc của tôi), but if I ever needed a reminder (sự nhắc nhở) not to judge a book by its cover, that was it. I am glad I did my normal client evaluation (sự đánh giá) when we first met, or I would have cheated myself out of meeting one of my most successful clients.
