"Square pegs in round holes" = viên gỗ vuông trong ô tròn -> nghĩa là người không phù hợp với vị trí công việc, đặt nhầm chỗ; "Nồi tròn vung méo".

Ví dụ
I’ve always felt like a square peg in a round hole in this university. I think it’s about time I resigned.

Chair Ken Rensink said he was perhaps concerned that they were “massaging some language to jam (nhồi) a square peg in a round hole,” but that he was uncomfortable with not supporting the project and he suspected the issue would go to the city council “one way or another.”

Too many square pegs in round holes. Inverted (đảo ngược) wingers (tiền vệ cánh), attackers (tiền đạo) as wingers, actual right back on the bench whilst utility player plays right back. It's workable if you're using the odd one, but put too many of these ingredients in the same pan and the taste of the soup diminishes (giảm bớt).
