"Stop and smell the roses" = Dừng lại và ngửi hương thơm của những đóa hồng -> Nhắc nhở/khuyên ai đó đang quá tải công việc phải làm hoặc bị stress đã đến lúc nên nghỉ ngơi và tận hưởng những điều tốt đẹp của cuộc sống.

Last week, Silverthorne couple Alan and Mary Jo Brown introduced cyclists older than 50 to the beauty of Summit County and its seemingly endless bike trails. The two wanted to prioritize (dành ưu tiên) safety and make time to “stop to smell the roses” rather than focus on miles.

Greenleaf’s retirement plan changed with the adoption (nhận làm con nuôi, nghĩa dưỡng) of a rescue horse for his wife, June. Adjusting to the idea of taking some time to “stop and smell the roses” in this new lifestyle, the Greenleafs found that their new mare’s name, Scarlet Rose, was quite fitting, even though they’ve stayed busy with their other rescues – dogs, cats, and guinea pigs.

“I don’t really think of what’s happened to me in the past two or three years until I talk to people like yourself,” Maniscalco says, reflecting (phản ánh) on his career during our interview. “I told my wife that I don’t stop to smell the roses. When I’m in it, I’m doing it and then I’m onto the next thing. Maybe I haven’t been taking the time out to pump the breaks a bit and see where I’m at. It’s been a definite goal of mine to be a little more present. I want to enjoy the moments a little bit more than I have in the past.”
