"A man's got to do what a man's got to do" = Làm những việc phải nên làm -> Phải làm một việc mà cảm thấy cần phải hoàn thành mặc kệ nó nguy hiểm hay rắc rối như thế nào. Đôi khi người ta cũng chỉ dùng để nói một cách mỉa mai.

Ví dụ
In other words, when stark decisions (những quyết định quả quyết) need to be made and sorcery (ma thuật) is the only method at our disposal — “a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do!”

They say a man's got to do what a man's got to do, and it turns out Deacon St John has rather a lot on his personal to-do list. "A murdering drifter (người đánh lưới trôi) camp," he mutters (nói thầm) during one excursion (cuộc du ngoạn) in Days Gone.

Obviously I’d rather him sit at home and enjoy boxing through me. ‘But a man’s got to do what a man’s what to do. My dad’s been training hard for this. ‘It is worrying for me because I know what it’s like getting in the ring. ‘If you’d asked me before I turned pro I’d have been like, ‘go for it, dad’, but I know the risks (những rủi ro, hiểm nguy) of getting in the ring.
