"Beat (something) to death" = đánh (cái gì) tới chết -> cụm từ này nghĩa là quá chán vì cứ lặp lại (cái gì) hoài.

Ví dụ
‘‘He’s a good example of a natural-born leader,’’ tight end Ben Braunecker said. ‘‘I think maybe a fault in coaching is to come up with a catchphrase (khẩu hiệu) that you really like and then repeat it over and over again and beat it to death.’’

I heard a woman ask: "Why do so many support him? How can they believe his words and promises that either stretch the truth or beat it to death? Is there no decency left, no respect for the feelings of others? And are our children learning that if the president of the United States can do it or say it, loudly and proudly, it must be all right?"

Ragnar asks whether perfection is infinite (vô hạn, vô tận), or if there’s such a thing as too much beauty or too long a period of bliss (hạnh phúc). Endurance art, as it defined in art history textbooks, is a performance of some kind of hardship (sự gian khổ) or exhaustion (tình trạng kiệt sức). But what happens when the thing performed is beautiful? What happens to a perfect piece of music if you beat it to death?
