"Beat (their) chest" nghĩa là gì?

"Beat (someone's) chest/breast" = đấm ngực thùm thụp -> cụm từ này nghĩa là công khai bày tỏ cảm xúc hoặc quan điểm mà ai đó không thực sự ủng hộ.
Ví dụ
Straight couples walking down the street never feel uncomfortable, and they’ve never faced barriers (rào cản) to marriage or adoption (việc nhận con nuôi) based on their sexuality (bản năng giới tính).
