"Fix me with a look" nghĩa là gì?

"Fix somebody with a look/stare/gaze" = gắn (chặt) mắt nhìn ai đó -> nghĩa là nhìn vào ai đó chằm chằm/dữ dội/mãnh liệt.
Ví dụ
Some women look away from the lens, some fix you with a stare that resonates (dội lên) loss and pain, which can eventually make you look away.
Fundraisers (người gây quỹ), Lewis adds, can expect a fair hearing: "Grade is extremely engaging (hấp dẫn), but sometimes he will fix you with a stare that says 'I want to get to the point here'."
I once sat next to Shirley Bassey on a sofa. Unfortunately, it was a very long sofa and she was on one end of it and I was on the other. Every so often (= occasionally), I would inch (dịch lần lần) towards the middle, whereupon (ngay lúc đó) she would fix me with a look of haughty (kiêu căng/ngạo mạn) incredulity (ngờ vực/hoài nghi), and I would inch back again.
