"Just off the boat" nghĩa là gì?

'Just off the boat' = vừa ra khỏi thuyền -> nghĩa là người mới đến một nơi nào đó (có thể dễ bị lừa, vẫn còn ngây thơ).

Ví dụ
Since Wajima is a fishing port, seafood can be found at virtually every stall. You can buy fresh fish just off the boat and have it made into mouthwatering (chảy nước miếng, thèm rỏ rãi) sashimi, or get a steamed abalone sliced up to go for later enjoyment.

But Omar is not "just off the boat." She came to the United States in the 1990s, according to her official House website. "Before running for office, she worked as a community educator at the University of Minnesota, was a Policy Fellow at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and served as a Senior Policy Aide for the Minneapolis City Council." She is also a former state representative (người đại diện).

It was the start of a life-long obsession. Mr Nadim, 40, has now completed 7,000 dives (lặn) and runs his own centre in Fujairah. From his base at the marine club overlooking the Gulf of Oman, Mr Nadim organises dives, teaches and mixes breathing gases. When I meet him there, he is just off the boat. Tanks are slotted neatly into holders, dive suits hang from the walls while students are arriving for the next class.
