When international human rights organisations and local civil society groups conclude that life is cheap in Nigeria, they are not guilty of exaggeration (sự phóng đại, sự thổi phồng).

In Third World countries, 2.5 million children starve to death each year. We throw away enough food to save every one of them, but saving lives is not a priority (ưu tiên) when life is cheap and somewhere else.

The last session of the North Dakota Legislature (Cơ quan lập pháp) considered a bipartisan (lưỡng đảng) “red flag” law but it was killed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 76-17. The word “considered” is ill-used. With that kind of vote, it didn’t even enter most legislators’ (nhà lập pháp) minds. Life is so cheap that North Dakota can afford to lose a few people.
