"Take things one day at a time" = Giải quyết mọi việc một ngày một lần -> Xử lý/giải quyết mọi sự một cách từ từ/dần dần và không tập trung vào kết quả cuối cùng/không quan tâm hay lo lắng chuyện gì xảy ra trong tương lai (trong văn nói).
Ví dụ
“Let go of expectations and take things one day at a time," says Katherine Brevard, a certified physician assistant and mother of two boys.
"Stay close, stay connected and take things one day at a time," Dr. Gudmundsen advises parents. "They don't have to tolerate that pain (chịu đựng nỗi đau) forever, and it won't last forever."
I have told myself (and others) that I’m not going to worry about it and just take it one day at a time. After all, I rationalize (hợp lý hóa) I could be hit by a car tomorrow and die. Worrying does nothing and I have absolutely no control. So, I am not worrying.
