"As the twig is bent, so is the tree inclined" hoặc "as the twig is bent, so grows the tree" = khi cành bị uốn cong, cây cũng nghiêng -> hành động của người trưởng thành được hình thành từ những hành vi học được từ nhỏ. Kiểu như khi 1 việc nào đó ta làm sai từ hồi còn bé, lúc lớn lên ta cũng sẽ làm sai.
