"Fire on all cylinders" = Đốt cháy hết xylanh -> Làm việc/thực hiện chức năng và hoạt động ở mức độ hiệu quả nhất, năng suất cao, tốc độ mạnh và với cường độ lớn/Làm hết sức khả năng có thể.

Ví dụ
"Mary" is effectively unnerving (yếu đuối, bực tức), but the film as a whole doesn’t fire on all cylinders until the last 20 minutes or so. It ends in a way that makes you wish there was more story to watch, which is always a good thing, but it also begs the question of why the movie took so long to really get good.

For the last few weeks, these 700 words or so have been something of a groundhog (con chuột chũi) column. Ipswich don't quite fire on all cylinders but do enough to win, largely because of a piece of skill, some stalwart (người vạm vỡ, khỏe mạnh) defending or the paucity (khan hiếm, ít ỏi) of opposition. Well, it will certainly read differently this week.

With the government flexing (sự uốn) its stimulus (tác nhân kích thích) when it counts, the PHL economy may post another year of 6% growth after picking up the pieces from the first half snafu. Significantly faster economic growth appears closer to reality now that state spending has picked up and after recent BSP policy rate cuts helping to reverse (đảo ngược lại) the meltdown (hiện tượng lõi lò phản ứng hạt nhân chảy tan mà kết quả là năng lượng phóng xạ phát ra) in investment growth. The tale of two halves may come to pass after all as the economy finds its footing to fire on all cylinders and bring the count of annual growth above 6% for eight straight years.
