"Gangsta rap" là một phong cách rap đặc trưng, dịch thô là rap băng đảng. Phong cách này chủ yếu rap về cuộc sống, xã hội theo cách nhìn, cảm nhận, cách suy nghĩ của một gangster. Đó có thể là những bất công xã hội, bất ổn chính trị, bạo lực, tình dục...
