"Like sheep" nghĩa là gì?

"Like sheep" = giống như cừu -> cụm từ này nghĩa là một cách mù quáng, quá dễ bị ảnh hưởng, quá dễ bị kẻ khác dắt mũi. Trong ngôn ngữ, nếu gọi ai đó là một con cừu hoặc con cừu non có thể ám chỉ hay liên tưởng rằng họ là người hiền lành, ngoan ngoãn đến nhút nhát và dễ dàng bị điều khiển và ngoan ngoãn phục tùng, nếu không muốn nói rằng chính là những người ngu ngốc.
Osama bin Laden, they say, is guilty of sending terrorists (kẻ khủng bố) to bomb the World Trade Center, and, most Americans and people of the world have been herded (bị dồn lại) like sheep into believing that without proof (bằng chứng).
What is even worse is the meekness displayed by the three national television networks that allowed him to do this. At least the Global network acknowledged (thừa nhận) they had never seen anything like this, before they followed like sheep so they would not be scooped.
Mainstream (chủ đạo) media and social media both have a stranglehold (sự kiểm soát chặt chẽ) on the worldviews (thế giới quan) of millions of Americans. It’s unfortunate that so many people act like sheep, obeying the edicts (mệnh lệnh) from talking heads (phát thanh viên truyền hình), pundits (nhà học giả uyên thâm, nhà phê bình), and Democratic puppets (kẻ bị giật dây) who are trying to turn our nation into a progressive echo chamber (phòng ghi âm) where good is seen as evil and evil is seen as good.
