'Little tin god' = người (vật) được tôn kính, thờ phụng nhưng không có gì xuất sắc; người tự cho mình là quan trọng.

Ví dụ
Fellow flier Sergeant R J Campbell referred to Thiele as "the best little bomber pilot (phi công) in the whole RAF and every one of us looks up to him as a little tin god".

Fear is a good motivator (động lực) in the short term but useless over the long term as person after person realizes that the little-tin-god manager has very limited power over them. If your manager is stuck in fear, your first assignment is to start building an escape hatch (cửa). Life is long, but it's still too short to waste (lãng phí) your time and talent working for someone who doesn't deserve you!

Disorganization (phá rối tổ chức) and delays plagued (gây tai họa, khó chịu) the entire Air Service; in a January 15, 1918, letter to his mother, Roosevelt railed against the “little tin-god civilians and army fossils that sit in Washington [and] seem to do nothing but lie” about how well things were supposedly progressing in France. “I saw one official statement about the hundred squadrons we are forming to be on the front by June,” he wrote.
