'Strike a chord with someone' = đánh đúng hợp âm -> nghĩa là đánh đúng tâm lý; làm cho mọi người đồng ý hoặc chấp nhận điều gì; làm ai nhớ về thứ gì, gợi lên cảm giác hay cảm xúc thân thuộc.

Ví dụ
Family Guy is one of those shows we have all seen and probably chuckled (cười thầm) at once upon a time. The type of edgy (dễ phật ý, hay bực mình), purposely offensive humor this cartoon was built upon doesn't always strike a chord today, however.

“We are seeing real success by featuring Product of USA/Alaska-themed promotions incorporating all species and forms from Alaska,” Salle says. “Alaska resonates (cộng hưởng; tạo ra tiếng vang) extremely well with consumers and stands for wild, sustainable and natural — all key attributes that strike a chord with consumers.”

But that doesn’t deter (ngăn cản) the 28-year-old, who is confident that the relatability of his material (he is hesitant to reveal the content of his new set) will strike a chord with audiences. That his earlier videos have clocked in millions of views on YouTube only adds to the assurance. “I will get to a point where I want the audience to take away something from my set, but for now I want them to have a blast,” says Dua, who thinks of himself not as a comic on stage but as a friend in the drawing room, there to share a story.
