"Accident of birth" nghĩa là gì?

"Accident of birth" = ngẫu nhiên (từ) khi sinh -> nghĩa là những đặc tính liên quan một người (thể trạng, bối cảnh xã hội, thậm chí quốc tịch) được coi là kết quả của xuất thân gia đình, và do đó ngoài tầm kiểm soát của người đó; đạt được điều gì nhờ vào gia đình (ví dụ: con nhà giàu, bố làm to, ông là nghị sĩ/quốc vương...) chứ không phải từ (nỗ lực) bản thân.
Ví dụ
So, as you enjoy the camaraderie (tình bạn) of loved ones, and the privilege (ân huệ) of having enough, a condition that has been freely given as an accident of birth, consider what it would mean to stop the cycle of mindless consuming in exchange for there being enough for everyone.
Some organize to protest (phản đối) discrimination (phản đối) and to make society more just and inclusive. On the other hand, those who through the accident of birth feel themselves to have greater social worth may lose sight of the privilege they were granted through no effort of their own.
