"Grow like Topsy" nghĩa là gì?

"Grow like Topsy" = lớn như Topsy -> cụm từ này nghĩa là phát triển, mở rộng nhanh chóng. Cụm từ này ám chỉ đến cô bé nô lệ người Mỹ gốc Phi nhỏ bé Topsy trong tiểu thuyết Túp lều bác Tom (Uncle Tom's Cabin - 1851) của Harriet Beecher Stowe, người khi được hỏi cô đến từ đâu, đã trả lời là "I ’spect I growed. Don’t think nobody never made me."

If cities are filled with art galleries, open grassed spaces, modest, well designed and carefully made buildings, and musical venues, this shows that its representatives valued art and music and expansive human living so highly that they subsidised the costs of such gracious living.
