"Ain't got a lick/grain of sense" có nghĩa là không có khiếu hài hước, lại ngốc nghếch.

Ví dụ
“I wonder where he is now,” Turner said. “That nigger didn’t have a lick of sense. Making things worse for himself, probably, wherever he is.”

These men from McKinsey -- and they are mostly men, and mostly white -- are indeed bright. Even so, several more prosaic (tầm thường, không sáng tạo) questions still bear asking: Do they have a lick of sense? Are they any better than the competition? Can you trust them?

"The world has gone out of its mind except for me and you," Nelson sings, seemingly referencing the increasingly confusing times we're living in. He makes a nod (tán thành) to "sitting on the fence" (không theo phe nào) and comments on his inability to relate to an old friend who "ain't got a lick of sense."
