"Better off" nghĩa là gì?

"Better off" = tốt hơn -> ở vị thế tốt hơn, thường là về tài chính (có nhiều tiền hơn trong quá khứ hoặc nhiều người khác; người giàu có, khá giả).
Ví dụ
The country would be better off if more women were serving in Congress (Quốc hội).
Savers (người tiết kiệm) who took advice in the early 2000s are on average £47,000 better off a decade later than those who chose to go it alone, according to research.
For example, you're better off spending money on a life insurance policy to protect your family than not having one at all; paying a professional for help with your money if you're paralyzed (đờ người ra) by indecision (do dự); and yes, buying the latte (cà phê sữa) if it's something you enjoy and it doesn't distract from your other goals.
