"Come across like" nghĩa là gì?

"Come across like (someone or something)" -> nghĩa là được so sánh giống với ai/cái gì, đặc biệt giống với một đặc điểm cụ thể nào đó.

Ví dụ
It may seem distant now, but one of Corbyn’s qualities that made him relatively popular in 2017 was he seemed to answer questions honestly, and so didn’t come across like a politician.

Paulie Malignaggi can talk. And talk. And talk. He might even talk better than he boxed, which is saying something. In fact, as he begins to work himself up in anger, he starts to come across like a Sopranos character flying into a rage (cơn thịnh nộ) in the mirror.

What happened to Peloton, according to Mike Shields, should come as no surprise. “If you’re trying to figure out how to be authentic, and find a way to make sure you come across like you’re real to consumers, you probably shouldn’t do it, because you’re probably going to end up with fake authenticity.” What’s so striking, however, is what a lost opportunity this represents. If there was ever a brand whose users scream out their genuine brand passion (literally) every day, it's Peloton.
