"Come (something) by honestly" = Có/sở hữu được điều gì một cách chính đáng và trung thực; sở hữu một đặc điểm nào đó giống bố mẹ.

Ví dụ
In Wayan’s defense, it’s a concept that the owners come by honestly: they are Cédric Vongerichten—who is the chef de cuisine (ẩm thực) at Perry St, in the West Village, which is owned by his father, the French chef and restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten—and his wife, Ochi, who is Indonesian. But it’s unclear what “modern French flair” is, exactly, and what, if anything, it does for Indonesian cuisine.

Most people at this point, new to the sub-continent (tiểu lục địa), do not ask how much this will cost – they just want that disgusting mess cleaned off. The cost might be a 100-200 rupees(NZ$2-$4) not a big deal to us, but considering that the shoe shine man himself has dropped his special gloop (but not poop) on the shoe himself (usually as the tourist get to the top of the stairs and is looking around to get their bearings) it's money he has not come by honestly.

Hailing (hoan nghênh, đổ dồn xuống) from Bend Oregon, Micah Peterson, AKA Second Son, is truly the second son of an Indiana Preacher Man and the songwriting force that when coupled with his backing band, The Rain Dogs, is a legit Alt-Country/Americana Band. Where so many Country Music Artists’ drawl seems like an affectation, Micah Peterson’s vocals feel naturally crisp and clear, as if he is effortlessly able to sit in the pocket where so many modern-country singers fail. This and heart-felt songwriting are the backbone (xương sống, trụ cột, sức mạnh) of Second Son and the Rain Dogs. The sound is authentic (chính cống) and lived in, as if the miles of hard road songs, were come by honestly.
