"Come up smelling of roses" = Vượt lên trên tất cả mà vẫn giữ được mùi thơm hoa hồng -> Ý là bạn thoát khỏi được chuyện rắc rối/bê bối mà vẫn giữ được danh tiếng tốt cho mình, không bị hề hấn gì và càng mạnh mẽ và tốt hơn trước.
