"Be/go up the spout" = (từ lóng) nằm ở hiệu cầm đồ (đồ vật); khánh kiệt, cùng quẫn; (thông tục) bị tan vỡ (phá hủy, đánh bại..); trong điều kiện vô vọng; có chửa.
