"A coon's age" = tuổi đời con gấu -> nghĩa là khoảng thời gian rất dài, rất lâu, đã lâu lắm rồi.

Terri added: "Well, I've never seen your mom in the four years I've been here." That's no doubt correct; my mom dropped by maybe five years ago after a Weight Watchers meeting here. And my dad, who had some business with Paceline Cyclery back in 2015, came in to meet our then-publisher, who was like-minded (cùng quan điểm) in terms of political (chính trị) philosophy (triết lý). But other than that, it's been - as my dad's longtime friend, Dick Sheffield, would say - "a coon's age" since they've been by the office.

Every summer, he lit up (tỏa sáng). He’d walk in the office with the scent of sun block swirling around him, smiling, sunglasses still on, and his ever-present, favorite floppy hat on his head. His old-school attitude colored his everyday speech, saying things like, “I haven’t seen you in a coon’s age,” or “We got a good bucketful of rain!”

While it may have been over a “coon’s age” since the Hatfield Knob Elk Viewing Tower was constructed, elk remain the target species for viewing by visitors at the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. In commemoration (hoạt động tưởng nhớ, kỉ niệm), the TWRA will hold special interpretive sessions Oct. 10.
