"Cut it fine" = Làm điều gì với chêch lệch sát nút/khoảng cách giữa đúng với sai rất mong manh; sát giờ.

Ví dụ
Figures released by HM Revenue & Customs show that 11.1 million taxpayers filed their 2018/19 returns ahead of the 31 January 2020 deadline, with over 90% doing so online. Many cut it fine, with over 700,000 submitting on deadline day and over 26,000 filing in the final hour before the 11.59pm cutoff.

And, as you can tell, this was no place to be to feel good about life. Interestingly, her anger was directed largely at herself, for cutting her timings so fine. Which resonated, as I so often see people taking delight in cutting it fine when an important deadline is looming, and I just don’t get it.

If you've cut it fine, this is a stressful situation as you could be left without a gift for a loved one. If the seller hasn't delivered your parcel within the agreed time frame agreed, you have a right to your money back in full. It you didn't agree a time frame, it has 30 days to deliver before you can complain.
