"Half a truth is often a great/whole lie" = một nửa sự thật thường là những lời nói dối -> không nói toàn bộ sự thật mà chỉ nói 1 phần sẽ dẫn đến hiểu lầm, không khác gì nói dối cả.

Ví dụ
“I only told the half-truth about my father,” she said, “and a half-truth is worse than a lie."

A half truth usually becomes a whole lie. You can work at play, but not play at work. Success is often just a little way beyond where we stop. Life is not so short but what there is time for courtesy.

He replied “This is the source of contamination (gây ô nhiễm) in West, and the fact that a one sided truth is a half truth and is a lie. This is what the Western media often describe other groups, that other people are small minded and are insignificant.

Duality, it seems, is a shackle (sự trói buộc) that binds (trói, buộc) sincerity (sự chân thành) within inhibition (sự kiềm chế), leaving one half veiled (che đạy) from a curious eye. A person is the half he shows, and a person lives the half he hides, and two half-truths appear to be one big lie.
