"Is the glass half empty or half full" nghĩa là gì?

"Is the glass half empty or half full?" nói đến thái độ của bạn đối với cuộc sống. Khi bạn nhìn nhận rằng chiếc cốc trên có nước để uống ("glass is half full") nghĩa là bạn thấy được mặt tốt đầy lạc quan và hi vọng của cuộc sống. Người ta thường dùng "to see the glass (as) half full" với ý nghĩa tin tưởng vào một điều gì đó tốt đẹp sẽ xảy ra. Trái lại, "glass is half empty" là cách nhìn một tình huống theo hướng bi quan. Những người bi quan thường chỉ nhìn thấy mặt trái của vấn đề với những rắc rối và khó khăn mà thôi.
