"Put finger in the dyke" = Chọc tay vào (lỗ nứt) ở đê -> Chỉ những hành động, sự kiện, điều luật nhỏ bé đơn giản nhưng có thể mang lại ảnh hưởng lớn hơn nhiều; cố gắng/hành động nhỏ để giảm bớt thiệt hại.
