Scientist creates super-sized sex doll for TURTLES to test their mating habits - confirming males are five times more likely to copulate with larger females

...‘If a typical male encounters many females of varying sizes, which happens because of the unusual overwintering habits of this species, and cannot possibly mate with all of them, he should prefer to mate with the larger ones,’ Bulté wrote in an article summarizing the experiment in The Conversation.

Bulté and his team used a 3D printer to create two artificial female ‘sex dolls’ to test the reaction from males in the mood for mating.

Ralph This research was published in Animal Behavior in April 2018 and widely covered by the media at the time. The Daily Mail and some other publications are slower than the turtles in finding out about fake females, for a change.

Le Petomane The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were, at first, upset by this study. Then they realized that pole dancing is out for any female turtle and went crawling away mumbling about their situation.
