"Have bats in your belfry" nghĩa là gì?

"Have bats in one's belfry" = có con dơi trong tháp chuông -> nghĩa là (ý kiến, suy nghĩ) gàn, dở hơi. Dơi thường bay loạn xạ trong bóng tối, khó để đoán được đường bay, liên tưởng tới những suy nghĩ bay trong đầu chúng ta.
Ví dụ
They smile, indulging (nuông chiều) their kooky (kỳ lạ) friends, and I can't help imagining they are thinking: “These two have bats in the belfry; someone simply dropped it and didn't pick it up!"
