"In a dead heat" nghĩa là gì?

"In a dead heat" = (sức nóng của cuộc đua) nóng chết người -> nghĩa là tình huống trong cuộc đua khi các đối thủ về đích cùng lúc, cầm hòa, bất phân thắng bại.
Ví dụ
After a fiery (nảy lửa) first half that resulted in a dead heat, Annapolis’ defense flickered out against No. 5 Wise’s fast break, allowing the Pumas to sprint their way to the Class 4A state semifinal at College Park, 72-62.
On the men’s side, it was two Airborne/Fly Racing teammates facing off in the final round. Tommy Zula and Collin Hudson weren’t just matched in team kit. The two U.S.-based friends finished their first of two rounds in a dead heat. The time was so close that “Winner” displayed below both riders.
The idea for handicaps (chấp) was to put enough weight on the best horses and a light enough weight on the least accomplished horses in order to have the entire field finish in a dead heat – at least theoretically.
