"Justice delayed is justice denied" = công lý bị trì hoãn cũng có nghĩa là công lý bị từ chối -> nghĩa là trì hoãn việc xét xử và phán quyết cũng được xem là thiếu trách nhiệm thực thi luật pháp.

Ví dụ
Mr Aitken, who works unpaid as a prison chaplain (giáo sĩ), went on to say: 'Law reformers (nhà cải cách) who roll out old clichés like justice delayed is justice denied should also recognise (nhận ra) that justice disgraced (ô nhục) is justice denied.

Many immediately consider (xem xét) the effect on the criminal courts (tòa án hình sự), already creaking (cọt kẹt) due to a lack of investment. The importance of such trials (phiên xét xử) being done expeditiously (mau lẹ)—justice delayed is justice denied—is critical (chỉ trích) for the accused (bị cáo) and the complainant (bên khiếu nại).

“There is a saying: justice delayed, is justice denied” says Henrik Elonheimo, an Adjunct Professor in Criminology and Restorative Justice (Tội phạm học và Công lý phục hồi) at the University of Turku. “It’s a well known problem that our our legal proceedings (tiến trình pháp lý) take too long. That way, actually it’s not real justice anymore” he adds.
