"Pipe down" nghĩa là gì?

"Pipe down" nghĩa là thổi còi ra lệnh cho (thủy thủ...) nghỉ (trong hàng hải); bớt làm om sòm, hạ giọng; bớt kiêu căng, bớt lên mặt ta đây.

Liverpool can forget their fretting (nỗi phiền muộn) – and everyone calling for this season to be written off can pipe down. The solution is simple; arguments unnecessary. We don't need to abandon this season, declare it null, void or both. We just need to rename it.
This is not a military dictatorship (chế độ độc tài) and we are not de facto state prisoners. But those running the country need to be mindful of the, as yet, unknowable side-effects of the draconian (tàn bạo) measures.
The trailer opens in typical Disney fashion, with a young girl sitting alone in her room pensively singing a song about wanting to explore the wider world. But she never gets to finish the song, being rudely interrupted by her mother demanding the girl to pipe down. So right off the bat, you know this isn't going to be a typical Disney princess movie.
